If you’re looking for an idyllic location to host your wedding day, then look no further. We invite you to make our house your home, exclusively for you and your nearest and dearest.

Our award-winning events team will be on hand throughout the entire wedding planning process, from the booking of the venue, until the last person leaves the dancefloor, so you can rest assured knowing that your special day is in good hands.

Exclusive use

As you have exclusive use of The Kedleston Country House, you can have your wedding your way. Hot chocolates in the Snug for a gorgeous winter wedding? Pimms on the terrace in the height of Summer? We want to help you create the best day possible, and we know that you’ll relax more knowing you have the entire property to yourselves.


When you say your ‘I Do’s!’, you have a choice of two locations. Our stunning Orangery with its glass roof and panoramic views of the countryside, can seat up to 70 guests; alternatively, up to 50 guests can be seated in the Dining Room, with high set windows and stunning architecture.

After your nuptials, guests can enjoy drinks and canapes. If weather permits, our terrace and lawns are a great place to mix and mingle, or alternatively, the snug and bar will be open for your guests to relax in our stylish and comfortable chairs, taking in the spirit of the venue.

For your wedding breakfast, we are more than happy to accommodate your needs, whether you’re looking for a lavish 3-course affair, or a relaxed tapas-style dinner. When you’re planning your special day, you will work closely with our events team and caterers to ensure the menu is perfectly suited to your tastes.

Last but not least, The Kedleston Country House will be yours for dancing the night away until 11.30pm, so you can really let your hair down and end the day on a high…

Make the most of your special occasion by staying over for the night. With five beautifully decorated boutique bedrooms, you and your guests can swap your dancing shoes for our luxurious robes and slippers, and enjoy the home comforts and luxuries that The Kedleston Country House can offer. Our bridal suite is also the perfect size for a Bride and her Bridal Party to prepare for the day ahead…

The following morning, guests can enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast in our dining room, reminiscing about the day before…

The time of your ceremony depends on your personal preference and the availability of the registrar. We find that between 1pm and 2pm are the most popular options. See below for an example of how the day would unfold:
1.30pm – Ceremony
2.00pm – Drinks Reception
3.00pm – Group Photographs & Confetti
4.00pm – Guests to be Seated for Wedding Breakfast & Speeches *Please allow a minimum of 2 hours for the Wedding Breakfast*
7.00pm – Evening Guests to Arrive
11.30pm – Last Orders/Music to end
12am – Carriages

With over 10 years’ experience in the wedding industry, we know our stuff when it comes to good catering, so we only use the best of the best chefs to cook your wedding breakfast. If you’d like to hire an external caterer as additional food, such as a street food truck or crepe van for example, you are more than welcome to do so, but you’ll still be required to order a Wedding Breakfast and evening food from us.

Unfortunately we don’t allow guests to bring their own wine, however if you do have any specific preferences and requirements, we are more than happy to work on your wine list with you before your big day.

The next important step is to book the registrar. This is a legal requirement, and isn’t something we can do on your behalf. Please contact Ripley Registry Office direct on 01629 532609 to book your wedding date and to arrange giving notice of marriage. Once you have secured your ceremony time, please email your wedding coordinator to inform them.

Guests are welcome to park in the on-site car park, or our overspill car park. Vehicles can be left overnight, but will need to be off-site by 11am the following morning.

The Kedleston Country House has 5 boutique bedrooms which all sleep two guests*. As the bride, if you are not staying with us the night before, you can access the bridal suite from 12pm, with all remaining residential guests checking in from 2pm. The following morning, breakfast will be served from 9.30am until 10.30am. We ask that guests depart no later than 11.00am.

A Continental Breakfast is included (English Breakfast £9.95) as well as robes, slippers and toiletries.
*The Scarsdale is a Family Room sleeping 2 Adults and 2 Children
A disco or a live band is permitted. We do have an in-house DJ that you are very welcome to use. The charge for this service is £400.00 however, you are welcome to use your own preferred choice. Should this be the case, we must receive a copy of their Public Liability Insurance and PAT test certificates at least one week before your wedding date. Music finishes at 11.30pm.
Candles are permitted as long as all flames are covered and are in a lantern or a votive higher than the flame. We do not allow tall taper candles nor candles on the stair case.
Yes with pleasure however, please only use real rose/flower petals or biodegradable confetti. You can get 10% off your confetti order with The Confetti Cone Company using code HONEY10
Yes, we require signed Supplier Agreements from your wedding suppliers. This is a document which states our Terms and Conditions, and will need to be signed to show that your suppliers agree to our terms.We will ask for you to give as many of these details as you can at your final meeting with your wedding co-ordinator. If any changes occur, we ask that these are communicated and confirmed in a phone call with your wedding co-ordinator two weeks before your wedding date.
If you’ve been to view the venue and would like to provisionally hold it for your wedding date, we can do so for 14 days. During this time, you will be asked to fill out some booking paperwork if you wish to proceed. If you decide you do not wish to book the venue during the 14 day period, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can release the date.
We have a small, friendly team of wedding coordinators, who are all on-hand to help you throughout your planning process. However, if you wish to meet your with your dedicated on-the-day wedding coordinator prior to your big day, this can certainly be arranged.

It’s easy to see Wedding Insurance as another expense, but for how little it costs, Wedding Insurance can offer you a great peace of mind and a financial safety net. Insurance can cover everything from freak weather conditions, to the cancellation of suppliers, and damage or injuries caused by your wedding guests.
